Also known in Italy as a writer and professional journalist, Sergio Di Cori Modigliani has enjoyed a prolific career as an artist. Educated at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan in 1969, he later received a PhD in Psychology of Visual Art at Columbia University. He assisted German photographer, Helmut Newton from 1969-1971. It was during this time Newton completed the work that would become his first book, White Women. Di Cori worked with the French master Jean Loup Sieff, Arles, Provence, France until the late 70s and in 1978, won the Grand Prix at the International festival of Fine Art, France. As a foreign correspondent, Di Cori currently covers the Hollywood industry for Italian newspapers and magazines. He also remains the trusted Visual Consultant for longtime friend, Emporio Armani. Di Coris current work embodies the great respect and admiration he possesses for the unique beauty, strength and power of the woman. His mixed-media images seem to shift in temperament with the hourly changes of daylight and again when artificially lit. Italian tempuras, oils and titanium pigments create depth when added to original photographs and diamond dusted canvases sparkle with an iridescent glow.
