Alejandro Ortiz-Mexia

Alejandro Ortiz has come a long way in such a short period of time to be an important part of both New York and Bogota art circles. A native of Medellin, Colombia, Ortiz is one of Colombia's most promising young talents. In spite of his young age, he has received recognition by the prestigious Regional Salon in Bogota, and has been awarded First Prize by the Salon Nacional de Artistas de Colombia. His distinguished style is most apparent in a commissioned mural in one of the oldest universities in Latin America, La Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano. In the United States his work has been in numerous galleries and featured in the Market Place Art Exhibit curated by the Bronx Museum of Art.
